Biography

Malcolm Allan is the president of Bloom Consulting and advises clients around the globe on place-making and place-branding. He has significant experience advising on strategies to create the identity and the brand for seniors living. Malcolm has been active in both the public and the private sectors in the UK and internationally on development planning projects. Malcolm led the Active Living International team working with Perkins Eastman Architects and AECOM establishing place-making and place-branding for a very large senior living community in Wuhan, China. The project, completed in 2012 was the first seniors development of its type in China. Based in London, Malcolm provides place-making and place-branding advice to developers and governments on projects around the globe. He is a visiting lecturer at Middlesex University in London (Faculty of Branding and Marketing) and lectures on brand-led placemaking regularly around the world and blogs on this topic or Bloom Consulting, The Placebrand Observer, and City Nation Place.
