David P. Collins was a
founder (1981) and member of the Board of American Retirement
Villas, formerly ARV Assisted Living, Inc., (NASDAQ:SRS) one
of the largest assisted living companies in the United States.
He served as President of ARV Capital Corporation until 2003
when the company was acquired by an affiliate of Lazard Freres.
Mr. Collins serves as President and member of the board of
Sensara Partners S.L., Malaga, Spain, and is Chairman of Active
Living International B.V. Amsterdam, NL. He has more
than 30 years experience in the senior housing industry and
has served on several public, private and charitable boards
including The Orange County Performing Arts Center Board of
Directors and is a member of the Advisory Board at the University
of California Irvine Center for Unconventional Security Affairs.
Mr. Collins received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Anselm
College, Manchester, New Hampshire. Further courses included
graduate studies at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Collins is conversant in Spanish and has working knowledge
of Arabic.
He and his wife Victoria Collins, Ph.D., CFP, a noted author
and asset manager, are the parents of five children and reside
in Corona Del Mar, California.
